BOSTON, Mass.--Frog Street, an innovator in early childhood education curriculum solutions, is making available three of Dr. Donna Housman’s ECSELent Adventures children’s books that focus on social and emotional well-being to the providers that currently use Frog Street curriculum.
These books teach the building blocks of emotional intelligence and strategies to young children through storytelling and will reach children throughout the country who are enrolled in Frog Street’s curriculum. Over the past 10 years, 3.6 million children have enrolled in Frog Street in all 50 states.
“Managing one’s emotions is paramount to positive mental health, academic and lifelong success. Children’s earliest years are the most important for laying the foundation for emotional intelligence, as 90% of the brain is developed before kindergarten. Housman Institute is thrilled that Frog Street is making my ECSELent Adventures book series available to its providers,” said Housman Institute Founder Dr. Donna Housman.
The three ECSELent Adventures books Frog Street is making available are: Theo’s Deliciously Different Dumplings, Riley’s Really Big Worries and Franklin’s World Takes a Turn, which will be released soon.
These three books individually explore: bullying, diversity and inclusivity, worries and anxiety, and the challenges and rewards of making room for and embracing others. Each book provides the teacher and parent with helpful tips on how to begin conversations about these topics.
All books in “The ECSELent Adventures” series are centered on Dr. Donna Housman’s peer-reviewed research that demonstrates the critical need to lay the foundation of emotional intelligence in the earliest years when the brain is most malleable in promoting healthy brain development.
